FAIRWINDS Unveils New Innovative, Advice-Centric Branch at Waterford Lakes Town Center

FAIRWINDS Credit Union has opened its newest full-service branch located at Waterford Lakes Town Center, reflecting FAIRWINDS’ ongoing commitment to providing convenient and accessible solutions for members both digitally and in-person.

FAIRWINDS Credit Union has opened its newest full-service branch located at Waterford Lakes Town Center, reflecting FAIRWINDS’ ongoing commitment to providing convenient and accessible solutions for members both digitally and in-person. For more than 75 years, the award-winning credit union has helped members achieve financial freedom by saving more, eliminating debt, building wealth, and living generously.

Demings, Ada Pachecho Camacho from the Office of District 4 Orange County Commissioner Maribel Gomez Cordero, Hispanic Chamber of Metro Orlando President/CEO Pedro Turushina, East Orlando Chamber President/CEO Andrew Cole, Samaritan Resource Center Executive Director Zeynep Portway, FAIRWINDS crewmembers, and guests gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, January 21.

The Waterford Lakes branch offers a new way of serving members for FAIRWINDS. Going beyond the traditional teller line that focuses on transactions, this location offers a team of highly trained universal agents that can provide guidance to members for all their needs in one visit, from applying for a loan to opening a small business account. The approximately 4,000-square-foot branch offers an on-site Wealth Management office. Members will also benefit from drive-thru service and an ATM.

“We are thrilled to open our doors in Waterford Lakes Town Center and continue to invest in our Central Florida community,” said FAIRWINDS SEVP/COO Phil Tischer. “This new branch goes beyond day-to-day transactions; it’s a space where our members can experience true personal and consultative banking with a heightened focus on advice to help them achieve financial freedom.”

According to Adrenaline, a brand experience company focused on financial institutions, 50% of consumers between the ages of 21 and 40 went into a branch “to work with staff to finish opening an account.”

“Waterford Lakes is one of the major retail areas in Central Florida,” added Tischer. “We have a significantly large population of members who live and work in proximity to Waterford Lakes, making it a highly convenient location.”

The branch is located at 881 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL 32828 and will operate during the following hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

  • Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Reaffirming its commitment to building vibrant communities and to celebrate this branch opening, FAIRWINDS made a $5,000 contribution to the Samaritan Resource Center. Located in East Orlando, the Samaritan Resource Center works to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty in Orange County. Funding will provide flexible capital for the organization to help adult individuals get back on their feet through case management, mental health counseling, and basic life essentials such as food, clothing, and hygiene supplies. Through this support, FAIRWINDS looks forward to strengthening its partnership and exploring future opportunities for collaboration.
