Recognizing that home ownership is a challenge for many Central Floridians, FAIRWINDS Credit Union has introduced a new Community Heroes Mortgage Program, designed to assist everyday heroes achieve their home ownership goals more affordably.
According to the Orlando Regional Realtors Association, in the last five years the median home price has increased by $152,000 (68%).
Benefits of the Community Heroes Mortgage Program include:
Lower monthly payments with discounted Private Mortgage Insurance premiums.
Down payment as low as 3%.
For active military and veterans, a down payment can be as low as 0%.
Community heroes eligible for this program include first responders, medical professionals, military personnel, government employees, and educators.
Said FAIRWINDS Chief Credit Officer Bryan Meizinger, “The Community Heroes Mortgage Program demonstrates our commitment to helping our most dedicated members of the community afford homeownership without going into unmanageable debt.”
Additionally, the program is designed to help members save long-term. “Rather than a one-time promotional incentive, members can save with more affordable payments for the duration of the mortgage,” added Meizinger. “This can help set them up for success to pay off their mortgage sooner, which really is the ultimate goal.”
